I feel like there should be a setting for aspect ratio during cutscenes in the configuration files but not sure where it is. V-sync and graphics settings must be involved (I have v-sync on), since they're rendered in real-time the frame timing being even slightly off could throw it out of sync with the audio enough to be noticable.
